For as long as I can remember shades have always been my thing. I think back to when I was younger, couldn't have been more than three years old, and all I wanted was a pair of shades. Once I got them you couldn't pay me to take them off. Some mornings I would forget and leave my shades at home, not realizing until I got in the car, I would cry and cry for those shades but my Moma would not go back and get them because if she did she'd be late for work. Eventually she got me a pair of shades to keep in the car and in the house, from there my collection and obsession has not ceased to grow. In elementary and middle school I would put on my shades as soon as I got home, it was often what I looked forward to throughout the day. It wasn't until I got to high school that I questioned "why do I wait until I get home to put on my shades, if this is how I feel comfortable I should wear them all the time." From there I began to wear my shades day in and day out, that began to be how everyone referred to me. It got so bad to the point where one day my teacher stopped class in the middle of lecture and stared at me for what had to be at least two minutes straight. I looked up and the whole class was looking back and forth from me to the teacher. "Why are you staring at me," I asked. "Who are you," he asked with a bewildered look on his face. "Crys-chelle," I said in a tone as if to say shouldn't you know me. He shook his head and continued with the rest of class. When class was over as soon as I put my shades back on the teacher proclaimed "Oooh that's who you are! I've never seen you without shades before, you have eyeballs, it's nice that you have those." The whole classed just busted out laughing, I was still in shock that he really didn't know who I was, but I happened to like my up and coming trademark. As my collection grew I went my entire senior year of high school without repeating shades. Some where in all the shade madness I realized that shades are my passion and that I want to own my own shade franchise. My ideas for this franchise continue to grow everyday and I decided to take my paper journal a step farther and start blogging. As a freshman at Texas A&M University I'm doing everything I can to make, what is already a reality to me, a reality to world.
If I shall die before they wake, I pray the Lord my shades are safe.
